Concealer is a life saver for many occasions. Whether it is acne, a special event, or dark circles under your eyes, concealer helps you hide those imperfections to give you an even, uniformed skin tone.
To get the most out of your concealer, here are the things you need to know to choose the correct type and apply it properly, as well as which products are the most highly recommended.
Knowing how to properly apply concealer will ensure that no one knows you’re wearing it.
If you have fine lines, you’ll need to plump them to provide a smooth base for the concealer. Gently pat moisturizer all around the area, even your lids (if your eyes are the issue). Once dry, apply your concealer, but be sure to NEVER put it on your eyelids (use foundation instead).
Do NOT use your fingers to apply concealer as it tends to cause creases and caking. Use a concealer brush or a beauty blender to carefully pat it in and blend.
Poorly disguised blemishes are worse than the actual blemish. Avoid an embarrassing blemish disaster by using a small brush to apply a dot of skin tone matching concealer onto the acne. With little strokes, move the brush around the base of your pimple. Do NOT use your fingers as it will add more bacteria to the face and worsen the acne.
How To Hide a Tattoo
Blue ink is the hardest to conceal, so you’ll need to sponge two or three light layers of orange based concealer that is a perfect shade match to your skin tone. Once it is hidden, set it with translucent powder.
If you have many tattoos or very large ones (more than four inches), you're better off wearing an additional layer of clothes than trying to cover them up, otherwise you could end up looking like a wax figure.
